“After years of abuse, I wanted to feel safe. I wanted to become independent from my abuser. I wanted to be honest and say what really happened to me. Unless you’ve been abused, you can’t understand the feelings of shame, fear and loneliness. When I met other women and heard about their situations, I realized I wasn’t alone and I became stronger over time.”
