Shofar Coalition Shares Strategies on Working With Victims of Childhood Trauma
The Shofar Coalition is a Baltimore-based program which focuses on childhood trauma. Shofar’s identified target populations are: child and adolescent victims of physical, sexual, and/or emotional abuse (both intra- and extra-familial); children exposed to domestic violence; children of alcoholic, addicted, or mentally ill parents; and adult survivors of any of these traumatic experiences in childhood. Join in Jewish Women International’s two-part children’s library project in Baltimore, MD!
JWI is pleased to announce fundraising has begun for the newest additions to our National Library Initiative, at the House Of Ruth Maryland and the offices of CHANA in Baltimore, MD. We will be outfitting both organizations with a vibrant new space – complete with kid-sized table and chairs, new bookshelves, a computer, bright rug and rocking chairs for mothers and children. JWI will also stock the shelves with hundreds of books for children of all ages. More...

You can learn all about CHANA and how to work on our helpline, advocate for victims of domestic violence, help with our Youth Curriculum, donate cellphones, write newsletter articles, deliver kosher groceries to a woman and/or her children in the safehouse, transport a client to/from an appointment and many other opportunities.
